Saido Berahino out, William Carvalho in at West Brom today

Published:

Saido Berahino cuts a lonely figure at the Hawthorns, and has done for some time now. But his time in the Black Country could be coming to an end this evening as Stoke City are just 5/4 to sign the England Under-21 international.

But fear not, Baggies fans, as any money made from the sale of Berahino might well be going towards would would undoubtedly be the biggest buy of the day – as talk of a bid for Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho intensifies.

And as things stand, it’s 7/4 for Carvalho to make his long-awaited switch to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has previously been the subject of a move to Arsenal in recent years, however the Gunners and Sporting have never reached an agreement for a bid to materialise.

But with money seemingly no concern to the majority of clubs in the top-flight of English football, it’s now Tony Pulis’ West Brom side who are favourites to land Carvalho.

The Baggies boss has kept his cards relatively close to his chest up to this point in the transfer window, and has only added two players to his roster – having admitted on several occasions he intends to bring in at least another three squad members.

So will William Carvalho be one of them? Only time will tell!
