Scottish Premiership Betting Tips: Can Rangers stop Celtic making it 10 in a row?

| 31.07.2020

Celtic are looking to make history and seal a tenth straight Scottish Premiership title as another season kicks off this weekend.

But Rangers gaffer Steven Gerrard knows he may be out of the job if he can’t bridge the gap to their greatest rivals and bring silverware back to Ibrox.

With six matches sprawling across into Monday we take a closer a look at some of the key encounters…

Aberdeen v Rangers (Sat 12.30pm)

Rangers will hope to lay down an early season marker when they travel to Pittodrie on Saturday lunchtime. Gerrard’s men are 4/9 to bag the three points, with striker Alfredo Morelos 13/5 to open the scoring.

Aberdeen are 13/2 to win and cause an upset. The pair played out two draws last season and a stalemate this time out is 17/5.

There could be a few goals here with Over 2.5 Goals at 7/10, former Celtic man Niall McGinn is 9/2 anytime to score. Ianis Hagi is 9/4 to get amongst the goals.

Hibernian v Kilmarnock (Sat, 3pm)

Hibernian will be looking to challenge the top four under former Sunderland gaffer Jack Ross and are 13/2 to start the season with a victory.

Ross could give debuts to new boys Alex Gogic and Kevin Nisbet with the latter at 4/1 to score first.

Kilmarnock may hand goalkeeper Danny Rogers a start after his successful trial and could give the nod to Eamonn Brophy up top. Our traders chalk them up at 12/5 to get the three points.

A draw is 23/10 with Both teams to score at 3/4.

Celtic v Hamilton Academical (Sun, 16:30pm)

Celtic are heavy 1/10 favourites to dispatch Hamilton at Parkhead on Sunday. Odsonne Edouard will be the main man again for the home side, the Frenchman is 14/5 to score 2 or more goals.

The Bhoys are going for a tenth consecutive title, but can Hamilton keep them at bay? It’s 29/10 to be 0-0 at half time, with the draw priced up at 2/1.

A repeat of Celtic’s 4-1 victory last season is 12/1, while there’s 33s about an away win. Hamilton’s Marius Ogbe is 4/1 to net anytime.
