Scottish Premiership betting tips and odds

The Scottish Premiership has a full programme of fixtures on Wednesday night when champions Rangers are 3/10 favourites to beat an Aberdeen team that ended a five-match losing run by beating Hibs over the weekend.

Jack Ross’ side have a tough task in avoiding a fourth successive defeat with a home encounter against Celtic, who are 13/8 in the Scottish Premiership title odds.

We have previewed both Old Firm teams plus the match between Livingston and Dundee United for our Scottish Premiership betting tips but we start in Edinburgh.

Hibernian v Celtic

Fourth-placed Celtic are finally starting to get their act together with three successive wins ensuring they remain four points adrift of leaders Rangers.

Ange Postecoglou’s men have won their last four games in all competitions with under 3.5 match goals and all three of Hibs’ recent defeats have come that way.

The visitors are 3/5 to win or 27/20 to win with three or fewer goals in the game, although the last three SPL meetings between the clubs have been drawn which is 29/10.

The Bhoys have won their last three matches 2-0 which is 13/2 and they were ahead 1-0 at the break in all of those games, so we go 5/2 on them leading by that scoreline at half-time or it’s 6/4 on Celtic HT/Celtic FT as one of our Scottish Premiership betting tips.

Rangers v Aberdeen

Gers had to fight back from behind to beat St Mirren at the weekend, just as they did against Hibs three weeks earlier.

Steven Gerrard’s side are 17/2 to win from behind while the hosts are 5/2 to win by a one-goal margin which was the case in the Dons’ previous four defeats, including a 2-1 loss against Celtic.

That was the result in both of Rangers’ trips to Pittodrie last season but they won 4-0 twice at Ibrox, so we go 19/20 on both a home win to nil and a victory by over 2.5 goals while another win by that scoreline is 12/1.

Kemar Roofe scored three goals against Aberdeen last season and bagged the equaliser from the penalty spot on Sunday and the former Leeds man can be backed at 23/20 in the anytime market.

Livingston v Dundee United

Third-placed Dundee United are the form team over the space of six games and they are the only side to have beaten Rangers in the SPL this season.

The Terrors are unbeaten in six, winning four of their last five, including a 1-1 draw against Celtic, so they look an interesting option at 9/5 to win at Almondvale.

Livi are also in decent nick having won their last two games and they overcame Celtic last month so they stand a chance of beating the Arabs as they did in last season’s fixture.

These are the worst two performers in the both teams to score table, so at least one team not to find the net looks an interesting option at 11/10 in our Scottish Premiership betting tips.
