Three scary footballers set to enjoy Halloween weekend

Published:

Nothing says it’s Halloween like making poor puns with footballer’s names, and we’ve picked out three men set to shine in celebration of the scariest night of the year.

Zlatan Ibrahimowitch’s PSG play Lorient at home to kick-off the French footballing weekend and backing the towering Swede to score looks a no brainer at 1/2 given his recent form.

The confident striker has dipped into his box of tricks regularly over the past few weeks, casting spells over sides in Ligue 1 and the Champions League to net nine in his past five.

Ibrahimowitch scored three times in two games against Lorient last season and defenders throughout Europe live in fear of his ruthless hot streak at the moment.

Back in England, Jozy Altigory returns to former club Hull with Sunderland after leading the Black Cats to victory with a man-of-the-match display in the Tyne-Wear derby.

This fixture has seen plenty of red in the past, with four sending offs in the last three meetings in Hull, including Altigory himself in the most recent encounter.

The muscle-bound American aimed a headbutt at Alan Hutton during a scuffle that saw both dismissed, but he is more likely to do his damage via the scoresheet this round, with the striker 11/5 to net at any time.

Finally we’ve picked out the far friendlier Casper Schmeichel, who has certainly been kind to opposition attacks of late, having not kept a clean sheet in any of his last nine games in all competitions.

Leicester are 14/5 to buck that trend away at Watford, but perhaps a better bet is both teams to score at 4/6, as has been the case in eight of their past nine, and all of the Hornets’ three most recent outings.
