Nations League Betting Tips: Northern Ireland to maintain unbeaten start?

Jonny Evans transfer news

The second round of Nations League matches continue tonight with Northern Ireland taking on Norway.

Norn Iron face a strong looking Norwegian outfit at Windsor Park but will fancy their chances of ending this international break unbeaten.

With Scotland having to take on a makeshift Czech Republic squad, we’ve also taken a deeper look at Netherlands v Italy in Group A1. Can Holland win again post-Ronald Koeman?

Northern Ireland v Norway – 19:45

Jonny Evans should return to the starting line up tonight as Northern Ireland look to stifle Norway wonderkid Erling Braut Haaland.

This could also be the game that Norn Iron’s skipper Steven Davis equals Pat Jennings record of 119 international caps, a feat Davis said would be an ‘unbelievable achievement’.

The Green and White Army are 12/5 for victory and 7/1 to win with Both Teams to Score. And they’ll hope Cardiff City’s Gavin Whyte still has hit shooting boots on after his goal against Romania.

Norway are 13/10 to take the three points, but it could be a tight affair with Under 1.5 Goals also 13/10. The draw is 19/10.

But after striker Josh Magennis’ 39th-minute red card against the Romanians, Connor Washington is 3/1 favourite to score anytime, while Kyle Lafferty is 13/2 to break the deadlock.

Haaland’s 21/10 anytime, with Bournemouth attacker Josh King at 12/5 and sought-after Crystal Palace forward Alexander Sorloth 13/2 to open the scoring.

Netherlands v Italy – 19:45

The Netherlands’ post-Koeman era continues when they host Italy later. But new Manchester United signing Donny van de Beek may be left on the bench again after his recent transfer upheaval.

Steven Bergwijn’s goal got interim boss Dwight Lodeweges’ tenure off the perfect start with a 1-0 victory against Poland, with the Oranje at 13/10 to win and take control of Group A1.

Italy grabbed a point against Bosnia & Herzegovina last time out. Another stalemate tonight is 11/5, while an Azzuri win is 21/10.

With so much attacking talent on display, there’s 21/20 for Over 2.5 Goals in the game. Memphis Depay is 15/8 to score, with Bergwijn 8/1 to break the deadlock.

Italy will welcome back Giorgio Chiellini into the starting XI, after gaffer Roberto Mancini accidentally left him out of the side against Bosnia when misreading the team-sheet.

His defensive partnership with Leonardo Bonucci could be key here, while striker Ciro Immobile is 9/5 to score anytime.

Anything less than a victory for the Italians would leave them struggling to make top spot, while Netherlands will hope to pick up where they left off.

Elsewhere

The other game in Group A1 is Bosnia (33/20) up against Poland (7/4), while Austria are 4/6 to beat Romania in Group B1.

In Scotland’s group, Israel are 6/5 to win against Slovakia (12/5).
