West Brom v QPR betting tips: Baggies set sights on top spot
West Brom v QPR betting tips and odds
West Brom get the chance to regain top spot in the Championship table for at least 24 hours on Friday night when they host QPR as 7/10 favourites.
The Baggies are one of only two unbeaten teams in the second tier but have drawn their last three games and another share of the spoils is available at 14/5.
Rangers have lost their last two and were in Carabao Cup action against Everton on Tuesday night so let’s look at some of the markets in our West Brom v QPR betting tips.
West Brom boss Valerien Ismael criticised his players’ final pass and the quality of crosses in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Preston and after an encouraging start to the season in front of goal they have scored just three times in their last four matches.
Under 2.5 goals would have paid out in all of those games which can be backed at 23/20, but QPR are proving to be one of the most entertaining teams in the division and it could be an exciting game at The Hawthorns.

There have been goals at both ends in five of QPR’s last six matches and there have been at least three match goals in six of the previous seven so we go evens on both teams scoring and at least three goals.
Mark Warburton’s side lost 2-1 in their last two Championship games against Bournemouth and Bristol City and are 11/5 to lose and score or 13/2 to go down by that scoreline for a third successive match as one of our West Brom v QPR betting tips.
QPR are eighth in the table but have been trailing in six of their eight outings, so they are a team that tend to make life difficult for themselves.

They have been losing at the break in four of their previous six games and are 13/10 to be behind again after 45 minutes.
Interestingly, the west Londoners have scored just once in the opening 45 minutes in their last six, so West Brom to win or draw, QPR under 0.5 goals in the first half and three or fewer goals in the match looks a decent option at 11/10.
Derby boss Wayne Rooney criticised West Brom’s high-pressing style of play after a goalless draw between the teams earlier this month, saying their “style of football isn’t pretty but it’s effective”.
West Brom are likely to line up in a 3-4-2-1 with either Callum Robinson or Jordan Hugill leading the line and two from Grady Diangana, Matt Phillips or Karlan Grant playing behind.
Warburton likes to play three at the back in either a 3-1-4-2 or 3-4-1-2 with two from Charlie Austin, Lyndon Dykes, Andre Gray and Chris Willock in attack.
With QPR in action during the week, the hosts are favourites to win the game and Robinson is 7/2 to break the deadlock or 11/8 to score any time, while Hugill is 4/1 and 6/4 in the same markets.
Phillips made it two for the season with the equaliser at Preston and is 9/2 to get the game’s first goal or 17/10 in the anytime market in our West Brom v QPR betting tips.
QPR strikers Gray, Dykes and Austin are all 13/2 to score first and 12/5 to find the net, while attacking midfielder Ilias Chair is 7/2 to breach the Baggies’ defence.
