Altior 4/5 favourite for Tingle Creek Chase

Racing royalty returns to the track on Saturday with Altior the 4/5 favourite for victory in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown.
The 2018 winner hasn’t lined up since winning at Newbury in February – missing the chance to win the Champion Chase at Cheltenham for a third time in March.
However, Altior is back in action as the outright front-runner beating out second favourite Greaneteen (7/2).
His stablemate Politologue – winner of this year’s Champions Chase – is 5/1 to be the first across the line.
Elsewhere, it’s 7/2 Chacun Pour Soi who leads the early Chase betting for 2021, edging out Altior at 6s.
Ladbrokes spokesman Jon Lees said: “It’s been a long wait to see Altior run again after his late withdrawal from the Champion Chase in March. Soon to turn 11-years-old there are questions as to whether he can still be at the top of his game but it’s worth remembering he remains unbeaten at 2m over jumps.”
With a lively card due at Sandown this weekend, it’s primed to be a good measure of Altior’s condition.
