Apple’s Jade has been cut to 11/10 for the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham after a gutsy victory in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown.

Gordon Elliott’s charge turned in a battling display to see off Supasundae by half a length in the Grade 1 renewal.

It was a fifth straight success for the five-year-old who has now won seven races at the highest level.

Connections have suggested that back-to-back Mares’ Hurdle triumphs are the aim for the daughter of Saddler Maker.

But with competition for the event low – Limini and Vroum Vroum Mag are next best at 11/2 and 8/1 respectively – the Stayers’ Hurdle remains an option.

Sam Spinner is the favourite for that one at 7/2, with Apple’s Jade next best at 7/1.

Meanwhile, you can get even-money on Elliott’s star winning any race at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival.
