Dan Skelton: Paddleyourowncanoe each-way chance at Sandown
Ladbrokes ambassador Dan Skelton has a combined six runners at Sandown and Wetherby on Saturday and he has given us the lowdown on all of their prospects.
I think the handicapper has him a bit high to be honest, but the ground should be nice. He likes decent ground. He has always been a very consistent horse, he has won heaps of races and I am sure we can do the same again this spring and early summer.

I think he will go very well. He didn’t get any further than the second fence at Warwick in the Classic. He made a mistake when the reins came over his head. Harry had to pull him up so that was a bit of a non-event. He definitely ran with credit at Haydock on his first start for us over hurdles.
He wasn’t beaten all that far and I was very happy with him on that occasion. I would like to think that he has at least an each-way chance.
He won there the last day and he is in good form at home, but this is probably a bit of a stronger race. I would have to give him every chance in this race over a bit further than last time.
He is a bit in and out but he can put in a very good performance and he’s in good form at home. I would like to think that he will go well and there’s only four runners.
We are ready to get started as his season hasn’t really started yet. He pulled up at Aintree in terrible conditions but he can do it on his day so I give him a little chance.
He is up against Ahoy Senor who will prove very difficult to beat but he has won around the track and he’s at home there so we thought we would have a crack.
We run a nice horse in the bumper called Don Hollow by Soldier Hollow, who I think has a fair future in the game. We’ve got him fit, he is well educated but I think this horse is more a stayer of the future.
I do think he will run nicely but I am not going there thinking he has to win. It’s his first day out of his life and we hope he can run creditably.
