Dan Skelton on Kempton, Newcastle & Wolverhampton

We start with Kempton tomorrow where we run Ch’tibello in the rearranged Kingwell Hurdle (2.25).

He is the highest-rated in the race and I am very happy with him. He looks fantastic. It was either here or Fontwell and hopefully he will go very close.

We run West Cork (3.02) next who has quite a high mark in this which is good. It’s quite a strong race as you would expect and I think Buzz is going to be the one to beat. He’s an ex-flat horse who has plenty of pace.

We’ve been very happy with our horse’s progression though, especially on his last two outings where he won right-handed on the flat track at Huntingdon. I am hoping for a nice run here and think he has a big future in the game.

Hopefully Newcastle passes it’s inspection and we can go up there for the Eider Chase (2.45) where we have a good chance with Very First Time. He won last time out under Bridget Andrews. We have had this race in mind since then and he goes here with a big chance. He should stay the trip and the soft ground isn’t too much of a worry. He’s as good as we can have him and his form is good.

Lastly, we run Antunes (3.55) and I think the track will really suit him with the big long straight. I definitely give him a chance here. He didn’t quite stay the full trip last time out so the drop back in trip here is ideal.

Sunday is an interesting day with the Jumpers’ Bumper card at Wolverhampton which we don’t go to very often. We start with Getariver (2.30), who has won a couple of bumpers. We have been waiting for some decent ground and it’s nice enough ground here obviously. She gets 7lbs and obviously has a chance.

Longhouse Sale (3:00) won four bumpers and loves a bit of good ground. He is coming back after his winter break and this is the perfect opportunity to get him out.

Hatcher (3.30) has also won bumpers. The races are getting a bit stronger at this point In the day and there’s a couple of tasty looking ones in here. I think our one has a big chance though.

Solomon Grey (4.30) has a leading mark in this. He hasn’t actually won a bumper but he was placed a lot and over jumps, he is the highest-rated of these.

In the last, we run Lonimoss Bareliere (5:00) who doesn’t look good enough against the likes of Red Force One and Wolf Of Windlesham but again he has been waiting for some decent ground and we want to get back out there.
