Robert Kubica favourite to join Ferrari for the 2013 season

| 31.01.2012

ROBERT KUBICA is the favourite to join Ferrari in the 2013 season according to Ladbrokes.

Despite his injury over a year ago Kubica edges favouritism and is just 3/1 to join Fernando Alonso and the Ferrari team, which could open the door for Felipe Massa (4/1) to depart following a turbulent year partnering the two-time World Champion.

Mark Webber is also chalked up at 4/1 to step out of Sebastian Vettel’s shadow and swap from Red Bull to Ferrari and there’s a 50/1 chance that fans favourite Michael Schumacher pulls on the famous red overalls for one more season.

With the launch of McLaren’s 2012 MP4-27 car on Wednesday it’s 7/1 that Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button finish first and second in the drivers’ championship. Even though Hamilton finished in fifth position last year he’s odds-on (8/11) to pick up more points than Button (1/1) this year.

However, when Ferrari follow suit with their launch on Friday it’s just 6/1 the team goes without a winner between Melbourne and Interlagos.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Alonso’s firmly in the driving seat and it looks like he’ll be calling the shots. Hamilton has a lot to prove to get back to the form of 2008 but the odds suggest the MP4-27 will put him in pole position.”
