Willie Mullins, Britain v Ireland Cheltenham

Ladbrokes has Willie Mullins at just 2/1 to train the winner of the 2024 race in the latest Grand National specials, with Gordon Elliot at 6/1 shot.

  • An Irish-trained winner is just 1/3, while it’s 9/4 that the world’s most famous races goes to Britain.
  • Punters love a grey horse, and Ladbrokes go 9/2 that a grey comes out on top, while it’s 11/8 that the victor is eight-years-old.
  • Meanwhile, the bookies are starting to see money for the ‘name’ horses like Kitty’s Light at 14/1, Foxy Jacks at 50/1, and Run Wild Fred at 66/1.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “The Irish are dominating the Grand National and expected to bring home the glory. Willie Mullins is gunning for the trainers’ title with eight contenders and we are seeing plenty of support for him to train the winner.”

Of course, Racing TV will also be broadcasting the race.

Ed Chamberlin, known to football fans for his prior work on Sky Sports alongside Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville, will be ITV’s host for the Grand National this year, just as he was for Cheltenham Festival last month.
