Next James Bond odds: The current favourites

Denis Villeneuve's appointment as the next director has seen Timothee Chalamet's 'next James Bond odds' slashed.
Mr Kylie Jenner collaborated with Villeneuve for Dune and Dune: Part Two, and with new Bond owners Amazon looking to make a splash, the Oscar-nominated Chalamet’s odds of succeeding Daniel Craig have been SLASHED from 66/1 to 16/1.
Filming for the movie, which is set to be released by the end of 2027, has reportedly been 'fast-tracked' so perhaps we'll begin to hear more about who the next Bond is going to be very soon.
The current frontrunner remains Aaron Taylor-Johnson, although he drifted from 11/10 to 11/8 following the Villeneuve announcement, with second-favourite Theo James also going out to 7/2 from 5/2.
Next James Bond odds
Aaron Taylor-Johnson still favourite to be the next James Bond
Taylor-Johnson has long been amongst the favourites for the role, but he had taken a backseat to Theo James and Henry Cavill in recent months. However, the 28 Years Later star is back in pole position for the iconic role.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “As one of the biggest actors on the planet, he’s always been mentioned in the running, but Timothee Chalamet’s never been seen as a serious Bond candidate. However, couple his profile with his successful collaborations with director Denis Villeneuve, and the odds suggest we could soon have an American Bond.”
Only five names are priced shorter than 10/1, with there having been ten names with an assumed probability of 9% or more of becoming the next 007 as we prepare to enter July.
Above are the odds for the ten front-runners to become the next 007, all of whom are priced shorter than 20/1.
Tom Holland a surprise contender to become James Bond
Best known for playing Spider-Man, Holland's odds of being the next 007 were slashed dramatically from 50/1 to 16/1 after it was announced that Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal will be one of the producers of the next Bond flick.
However, Holland's odds are back up to 33/1, suggesting that despite a brief glimmer of hope, the bookies still think that Holland is a major longshot to be selected as the next 007.
The other producer is Wizarding World supremo David Heyman, but a sensational broomstick-DB5 switch doesn’t look to be in Daniel Radcliffe’s future, with his odds of being the next Bond also as far out at 100/1.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “Spidey suit, dinner suit, what’s the difference? Tom Holland has proved he can fill big shoes before, and with a producer he knows well on board for James Bond, he could soon be swapping one iconic character for another."
David Beckham to become James Bond
David Beckham would make a great James Bond, according to 35% of the Brits surveyed by Ladbrokes.
Beckham turned 50 on 2 May, and as part of a survey commissioned by the bookies to celebrate Golden Balls’ golden anniversary, Ladbrokes asked 1,000 members of the public whether they think he would make a great James Bond.
Those who believe he’ll swap his chainmail and sword from King Arthur for a dinner suit and vodka martini can get 80/1.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “We’re not sure whether he’ll be swapping No. 7 for 007 anytime soon, but our survey shows that a significant chunk of Brits believe that DavidBeckham would make a great Bond.”
