2011 Grand National tip #3: West End Rocker the big each-way value

West End Rocker is 33/1 in the Grand National odds and would certainly be heading to Aintree at a much shorter price had he not pulled up on his latest start at Aintree in February.
However, the horse should be forgiven for this one-off bad run in the Grand National Trial, particularly as he failed to enjoy the overly heavy ground.

Trainer Alan King believes that West End Rocker is the “forgotten horse of the Grand National” and if bouncing back from his display at Haydock, he has to have a solid place claims.
Other factors in his favour are that he is still to fall during his career, which is a good sign ahead of tackling the challenging Aintree fences, while the experience of having Robert Thornton on board can only be a positive.
West End Rocker is also considered to be the optimum age to run in the Grand National as two of the last three winners have been nine year olds.
