Andy Murray among Wednesday’s three best ATP Tour bets

With Andy Murray still in the hunt for a place at the end-of-year ATP Tour Finals, it feels like it’s raining tennis here at Ladbrokes with a veritable downpour of matches involving the world’s finest in the offing this week.

Not only do we have the Valencia Open to contend with but over in Switzerland the Basel Open is in full swing with a full roster of big name players going head-to-head.

And with the 2013 Wimbledon Champions in action this Wednesday, we’ve plucked out three great bets to help you make the most of all the action on offer.

Andy Murray to beat Jurgen Melzer 2-0 @ 2/5

We start, as expected, with the value pick of the bets for those keen to cash-in on a resurgent Andy Murray. Yes, the odds aren’t exactly brilliant, but with the Scot in action against the 121-ranked Melzer this is as good as it is going to get.

The thinking behind the tip is simple: Murray has beaten Melzer in each of their previous five meetings, with the three most recent coming in straight sets. The Scot overcame the Austrian 2-0 at the Rome Masters earlier this year and has won three of his last four in straight sets too.

Roberto Bautista-Agut to beat Santiago Giraldo 2-0 @ 5/6

Finalist in last week’s Kremlin Cup in Moscow, Bautista-Agut impressed in Eastern Europe and could make light work of the Colombian Giraldo here, having dispatched the 26-year-old 2-0 in their only previous meeting at the Madrid Masters this year.

The Spaniard won all four of his matches in straight sets on route to that final in Russia and could well do the same here, with Giraldo on a run of three straight losses, with two of those defeats coming without winning a set.

Exactly three sets in Thomaz Bellucci v Mikhail Youzhny @ 6/4

Though on paper this match is unlikely to grab many of the headlines, the history between these two suggests it could go all the way, though picking a winner remains a tough call.

Bellucci came out on top 2-1 last time they met in Gstaad in 2012, while prior to that Youzhny triumphed 2-1 at the Rome Masters the very same year, while the Russian was the victor 3-2 in a 2011 Davis Cup tie. It therefore stands to reason that this one could go all the way.
