Ankle troubles can hand Tipsarevic the advantage against Murray

Published:

Should the rain hold off, there are some dark clouds hanging over London Bridge this morning, punters are in for one brilliant betting day at Queens today.

Andy Murray is the 1/5 favourite to beat Janko Tipsarevic today but the Scot admitted concerns with his ankle after defeating Xavier Malisse in three sets yesterday, and Tipsarevic looks worth a punt at 7/2 to beat Murray.

The two share a 3-3 head-to-head record and Tipsarevic won their last clash in Dubai last year, and their only tie on grass which came at Queens in 2006.

The Serb made hard work of his second round match with Michael Russell but is still yet to drop a set at Queens this year and Tipsarevic looks the value at 7/1 to beat Murray 2-1 with the Scot concentrating on staying fit for Wimbledon.

James Ward vs Sam Querrey

Defending champion Querrey will face a torrent of noise when he takes on British youngster Ward but the American remains the short favourite at 2/9 to win.

Ward has made the unfortunate error of reaching the last 16 at Queens, thus thrusting himself into the limelight which will now mean extra pressure heaped on his shoulders, but Querrey hasn’t been in sparkling form this year and Ward has a real chance.

This tie looks like going the distance with a partisan crowd likely to have a huge influence on this tie and there’s plenty of value to be found in backing Querrey to win 2-1 at 3/1.

Fernando Verdasco bvs David Nalbandian

In the tightest of today’s matches at Queens, Verdasco looks the pick at 4/5 to progess into the quarter-finals.

Nalbandian is playing his first tournament following a four-month break and while he has impressed so far, Verdasco holds a dominant head-to-head record over the Argentine.

Neither player is yet to drop a set at Queens but this one looks like going three sets with Verdasco 11/4 to take it 2-1.
