Cameroon vs Denmark – teams announced

Published:

Both Paul Le Guen and Morten Olsen make changes to their teams in the Cameroon v Denmark match which kicks off at 7.30pm.

After coming in for much criticism the Indomitable Lions boss brings more experience to his side in the shape of Arenal’s Alex Song, former Premier League player Geremi and Real Betis’ Achille Emana.

18-year-old Joel Matip, 21-year-old Eric Choupo-Moting and perhaps surprisingly Lyon’s dynamic midefielder Jean Makoun are the players who miss out.

It seems Le Guen has listened to his players pleas and Samuel Eto’o could be deployed up front and is the 11/2 favourite to score first.

It’s a similar story for the Danish manager who goes for two of his most mature squad members.

Stepping in are 32-year-old Jesper Gronkjaer and 33-year-old Jon Dahl Tomasson who have 188 caps between them, while Tomasson has 51 international goals to his name.

Thomas Kahlenberg and Thomas Enevoldsen are the ones who make way.

Olsen will be hoping Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner can open his account. He’s 6/1 to score first.

The teams in full:

Cameroon
Hamidou, Assou-Ekotto, N’Koulou, Bassong, A Song, Geremi, Emana, Enoh, M’bia, Eto’o (Captain), Webo

Denmark
Sorensen, Kjaer, Agger, Jacobsen, S Poulsen, C Poulsen, Gronkjaer, Jorgensen, Tomasson (Captain), Bendtner, Rommedahl

How do you see the old-timers affecting the displays? Can Tomasson conjure up some classic magic? He’s 9/4 to score at any time. Or will Geremi produce a trademark free-kick? He’s 8/1 to score at any time. See the full Cameroon v Denmark match betting market.
