Argentina vs Germany – teams announced

| 03.07.2010

The teams for the much-anticpated last-eight clash between Argentina and Germany are in and neither manager makes any changes to the sides which started in their round-of-16 ties.

The match kicks off at 3pm with Argentina the 5/4 favourite to win in 90 minutes, while Germany are 9/4. The draw is also 9/4.

Diego Maradona will be hoping Lionel Messi finally scores at this World Cup and looks dangerous at 9/2 to score first. The Barcelona forward is the player with the most shots on target and most successful dribbles at the World Cup.

Gonzalo Higuain is currently joint-top goalscorer and is 9/2 to bag first here.

Mesut Ozil starts once again for Joachim Low’s Germany and is 14/1 to score first, as he did against Ghana in the group stage.

Miroslav Klose needs four more World Cup strikes to be its highest ever scorer. Klose is 8/1 to score first.

With two teams possessing great attacks and questionable defences, this one could be abundant with goals. It’s 9/4 for over 3.5 total goals in the game.

The confirmed starting line-ups are:

Argentina: Romero, Otamendi, Demichelis, Burdisso, Heinze, Maxi Rodriguez, Mascherano, Di Maria, Messi, Tevez, Higuain

Germany: Neuer, Boateng, Friedrich, Mertesacker, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Khedira, Ozil, Podolski, Muller, Klose

This same match went to penalties four years ago – will the same happen again? Both teams are 10/1 to win on penalties. See the full Argentina v Germany match betting market.
