T20 group leaders Somerset to pay their neighbours a visit

Published:

After a short break to allow for county cricket, the stripped down version is back, with seven matches taking place this evening.

Southern Group leaders Somerset are quite rightly the favourites to put one over on their kindly neighbours from Gloucestershire – currently languishing at the bottom of the group – with odds of 1/2 to win the match.

Big hitter Marcus Trescothick has been in a rich vain of form, having recently made a half century from just 14 balls. Gloucestershire would do well to rid of him early doors.

Sussex currently lead the Friends Provident Rankings, making them understandably the favourites to come out on top against a decent Essex side, with odds of 8/13 to Essex’s 6/5.

Leicestershire and Durham are proving difficult to separate, with both on odds of 5/6 to come out victorious. Leicestershire just slightly shade their rivals on league wins, with 5, to Durham’s 4 this season.

Whilst money can be made in the Hampshire vs Middlesex match with a market open on who might score the most runs for each team.

Punters would be very wise to take a long look at the Middlesex man, Owais Shah, who has a whopping Twenty20 strike rate of 141.96.

His odds of top scoring in the match for Middlesex are pretty tempting at 7/2.
