With the Ryder Cup just weeks away, the betting on the competition is about to get a lot more intense.

On October 1st the best players from Europe and the United States will round on the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, to battle it out in the Ryder Cup betting over three days of intense golf.

Europe hold two of the years major winners in their team in Graeme McDowell and Martin Kaymer, whilst the United States have seen all the majors evade their side.

In the Ryder Cup betting, Europe dominates the market at 8/13 with the United States team 13/8 to retain the Ryder Cup on foreign soil.

The draw is available at 10/1 but it has only happened twice since the inaugural event in 1927, the last time a draw happened was in 1989.

Tiger Woods is the favourite to be the top point scorer in the Ryder Cup betting at 8/1, with Rory McIlroy, 10/1, and Kaymer, Steve Stricker and Phil Mickelson, 12/1.

McDowell is 14/1 to be the top point scorer in the Ryder Cup betting market but is joint 6/1 second favourite with Kaymer to be the European team’s top point scorer.

Woods, Stricker and Mickelson head the USA top point scorer market at 4/1, 5/1 and 5/1 respectively.

The United States team won the last Ryder Cup in Valhalla by 16½ points to 11½, but Europe won the previous two Ryder Cup ties by 18½ points to 9½.

It is 20/1 for the US team to win by the same score as last time out but you can get 25/1 on Europe winning 18½ to 9½ like their previous two victories.
