Agent confirms Kuyt interest in Inter as they seek Serie A title

Inter Milan have not given up landing Dirk Kuyt from Liverpool before the end of the transfer window in order to boost their chances of landing a sixth successive Serie A title this season.

Rafa Benitez faces his first season in the Inter hotseat with the club rated as the evens favourites to be crowned champions for a 19th time in their history.

Kuyt has been a transfer target of Benitez since leaving Liverpool for Italy and according to the player’s agent Rob Jansen, the move is something that interests the forward.

Jansen said: “My client told Liverpool he no longer wants to be involved as this is something that regards his career and life.

“It doesn’t mean he wants to leave at all costs, but when a club like Inter comes along it’s normal to look into the situation further.”

Inter get their Serie A season underway away at Bologna and are 4/7 to open up with a victory.

Among the chief reasons for Inter’s favouritism is that they have arguably the greatest squad depth in the league and are particularly formidable in defence, conceding only 34 goals en route to the title last season.

Meanwhile, they have already shown their intent with a 3-1 victory over Roma in the Italian Super Cup and in Diego Milito have perhaps the best finisher in the division.

The Argentine netted both goals in their Champions League final win over Bayern Munich last season and was just as prolific in the league with 22 goals.

Inter beat Bologna 3-1 in the corresponding fixture last season, a repeat is 9/1. See the whole Bologna vs Inter match betting market.
