Cardiff’s Bellamy tipped to top Championship scoring charts

| 21.08.2010

Fresh from his sensational move to Cardiff City, Craig Bellamy has been installed as the 4/1 favourite to be the Championship’s top scorer this season.

Having been frozen out at Manchester City, Bellamy has joined his hometown club on a season-long loan deal, and the livewire forward is determined to guide his hometown club to the Premier League.

Following Bellamy’s arrival, Cardiff’s Championship title odds have been cut from 12/1 to 9/1, and this coup should galvanise the entire club in their push for the top flight.

Bellamy’s first match for his new side will be a home fixture against Doncaster, where Cardiff are 4/5 favourites to win in front of what should be a sell-out crowd.

And as the Bluebirds try to heal the wounds of last season’s play-off final defeat, their new acquisition has also led to their odds of winning promotion to be reduced to 3/1.

Who will be Bellamy’s main competition for the top scorer’s accolade? Kris Boyd is a 9/1 contender. See the full Championship Betting Odds market.
