Murray begins Toronto title defence against Malisse

Andy Murray will open his defence of the Rogers Cup against Xavier Malisse, in a match the British number one is a convincing 1/6 to win.

The world number four has only faced Malisse once before, and having won that solitary encounter, Murray will be confident of progressing in Toronto.

Malisse has been playing well recently, however, and after reaching the semi-finals of the Legg Mason Classic, the Belgian veteran could prove to be a tricky opponent for Murray.

At the Farmers Classic, Murray went the distance against three of his opponents, and with this in mind, a three-set win for the Scot is temptingly priced at 3/1.

Rafael Nadal vs Stanislas Wawrinka
Rafael Nadal is the 2/1 favourite to win the Rogers Cup, and he begins his tilt at the title with a match against Stanislas Wawrinka.

Nadal has won all five of his matches against his Swiss opponent, managing not to lose a single set in doing so. Another straight-sets win for Nadal is available at 1/4.

An Olympic gold medallist and ranked 25th in the world, Wawrinka should not be entirely discounted, and the 25-year-old is 6/1 to beat Nadal.

Fernando Verdasco vs Jeremy Chardy
Having beaten Marcos Baghdatis in the first round, Jeremy Chardy is enticingly priced at 7/4 to claim Fernando Verdasco as his second big scalp in Toronto.

World number nine Verdasco is the 2/5 favourite, but Chardy has the advantage of winning their only previous meeting, at Memphis earlier this year.

Can Chardy repeat his straight-sets victory in Memphis? The Frenchman is priced at 4/1 to beat Verdasco in two sets. See the full Verdasco vs Chardy Match Betting Odds market.
