Tottenham Hotspur vs Young Boys – Spurs will feel the pressure

Published:

Harry Redknapp leads his Tottenham side into the biggest game in their recent history tonight as they attempt to progress into the group stages of the Champions League.

Young Boys led Spurs 3-1 at half time in the first leg but a late Roman Pavlyuchenko strike have left Spurs with two away goals and a great opportunity to progress.

A 1-0 victory, priced at 13/2, would be enough to send Spurs through but the Lilywhites will need to be weary of the Young Boys attack, specifically Henri Bienvenu who has two goals from his three starts in the Champions League.

Young Boys went to Turkey and defeated Fenerbahce in their first Champions League qualifier and with Spurs’ stuttering start to the season, Young Boys will fancy their chances at White Hart Lane.

First leg hero, Pavlyuchenko is a doubt, along with fellow strikers Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane, so harry Redknapp will look to Peter Crouch to lead the line.

With the pressure and expectation heaped on Spurs, expect this game to be a nervy affair and Spurs to win by two or fewer goals in the match presents excellent value at 13/5.

Gareth Bale has been drawing plaudits from the football media in his first two games this season and his double at Stoke on Saturday presents a player high on confidence.

Bale’s dead-ball ability will worry the Swiss outfit and with a tense game, Spurs fans could be looking to the Welshman to provide a piece of magic to swing the game in their favour and he is 9/2 to score the first and possible the only goal of the game.

A nervy affair will see Spurs edge the game by the solitary goal. See the full Tottenham Hotspur vs Young Boys betting market here.
