Atletico looking to be first away Mestalla winners in 2010

Valencia have kicked off their La Liga season in sensational fashion with three straight wins and this run could be set to continue when they host Atletico Madrid next.

The Mestalla has been a fortress throughout 2010 for Valencia as Racing Santander are the only team to have left with anything when gaining a goalless draw.

Valencia have also conceded just three goals in these 13 home games and Atletico have failed to win at the Mestalla since leaving with a 1-0 win in 2003.

Unai Emery’s team are 11/10 to beat Atletico Madrid and the 7/1 on offer for a 1-0 victory may be worth taking as this has been the result in four of Valencia’s last seven games.

Atletico are 5/2 to return to Madrid with the three points and continue their own fine start of two wins and a defeat at home to Barcelona.

Barcelona suffered a surprise early season setback when losing at home to Hercules, but bounced back with their win over Atletico.

Their next challenge comes at home to Sporting Gijon, who have only ever won once at the Nou Camp.

The omens get worse for Sporting as they have failed to score in six of their last nine away games and conceded more than two goals in six of their last eight games against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

However, Lionel Messi is out for Barcelona and they have only won half of the games in which he has been missing in the past two seasons, in comparison to 80 per cent in which he has played.

Barcelona are 1/7 to beat Sporting Gijon, with the visitors 14/1 to cause a second big upset at the Nou Camp this season.

Barcelona are 8/11 to win La Liga this season. See the whole La Liga winners market.
