Kharkiv looking to dominate again, this time against PSV

FC Metalist Kharkiv were the biggest winners in the opening round of Europa League fixtures and will be eager to build on their impressive start when they host Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

The Ukrainians blitzed to a 5-0 victory away at Debrecen in their opening game and are 7/5 to beat PSV and make it six points from six in Group I.

Metalist have also only lost once in eight European home games, while PSV will be looking to follow in the footsteps of their Europa League group campaign last season where they qualified without defeat.

PSV are 15/8 to beat Metalist in what is the first meeting between the two in UEFA competition.

Sampdoria host Debrecen in the other Group I game and are heavy favourites at 1/6 to secure victory, particular after the Belgians performed so badly in their opening Europa League encounter.

Domenico Di Carlo’s team have also lost just once in 14 home European ties.

Another Italian team are in action in Group F, with Palermo hosting Lausanne and aiming to boost an average home record in the competition.

Palermo have taken the three points only once in four home games in the tournament, but are 2/9 to beat Lausanne and bounce back after losing 3-2 to Sparta Prague in their opening clash.

Lausanne may be in the Swiss second division, but could still pose a significant challenge as they are unbeaten in their three away European matches this season.

CSKA Moscow and Prague both won their opening Group F fixtures, meaning the team that emerges victorious in Russia will be firm favourites to finish top of the group.

CSKA are the 2/5 favourites to beat Prague, despite the visitors being unbeaten against Russian opposition in their last five meetings, a run stretching back to almost 20 years.

Palermo and Sampdoria are both 33/1 to win the Europa League this year. See the outright Europa League winners betting odds market.
