Lukaku indicates that Real Madrid would represent his dream transfer

Rising Belgian prospect Romelu Lukaku has revealed that if he was going to seal a dream move away from Anderlecht then it would be to Real Madrid.

The 17-year-old is one of the biggest young talents in the game and topped the scoring charts in Belgium last season to see his name linked with a number of giants of European football.

Liverpool and Chelsea have already shown an interest in the striker, dubbed the new Didier Drogba because of his playing style and physical attributes, although Jose Mourinho has also highlighted Lukaku as a transfer target.

And in an interview with Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, Lukaku indicated that Real would be the destination he would choose to develop his football.

He reportedly said: “I don’t want to get involved with non-footballing matters, which are the concern of my father and my club Anderlecht, but if I had it my way, I would go to Real Madrid as that is the team I dream of.”

Real Madrid are 11/8 to win La Liga in their first season under the stewardship of Mourinho, but his tenure failed to get off to the perfect start as they were held to a goalless draw in his first league game away at Mallorca.

One potential problem is the shortage of strikers at the Bernabeu, with Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema the only recognised options available.

Mourinho’s first home La Liga game in charge is against Osasuna and Real are 1/6 to take the three points.

In the meantime, Lukaku will continue to give his all for Anderlecht as they look for success in Belgium and Europe and they are 66/1 to win the Europa League this season.
