Robinho sets sights on Serie A title after moving to AC Milan

Robinho has set his sights on winning the Serie A title after sealing a permanent move from Manchester City to AC Milan.

The Brazilian has been linked with numerous offers away from Eastlands for much of the summer, with a move back home to Santos falling through after a successful loan spell because of the club’s failure to meet City’s asking price.

Turkish outfit Besiktas got closer to adding Robinho to their squad, but he rejected in the hope of sealing a preferred switch to either Spain or Italy.

And Robinho’s wishes have come true after passing a medical in Milan and he will join countryman Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato at the San Siro, alongside fellow new recruit Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It is reported that he has signed a four-year contract, with the transfer fee thought to be in the region of €15m.

Robinho told Sky Italia: “Milan are an important side and I hope I will be able to show my worth on the pitch.

“I want to win the Scudetto. I haven’t spoken with Pato and Dinho, but I’m really happy to be here.”

Pato scored twice as AC Milan got their Serie A season off to the perfect start with a 4-0 romp at home to Lecce, which was enough to send them top of the league after the opening round of fixtures.

They are 9/4 to win Serie A, with former club City valued at 7/1 to finish at the head of the English Premier League.

Inter have won Serie A for the past five seasons and are 11/10 to make it six in a row. See the entire Serie A winners market.
