Tiger out of the Woods for Ryder Cup?

Despite a challenging year Tiger Woods was today named as one of Corey Pavin’s four wildcards.

Woods is now 4/1 favourite to be the USA’s top Ryder Cup points scorer according to Ladbrokes. Phil Mickelson is 5/1 second favourite alongside Steve Stricker.

Rory McIlroy is 4/1 favourite to be top European points scorer, and Europe are 8/13 to win the Celtic Manor contest, with USA 13/8 and the tie 10/1.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said, “The US team always looks strong but their big names have a tendency to choke, so it will be interesting to see if Mickelson or Woods can buck that trend this time.”
