Zat Knight sets goal target after scoring against Manchester United
Published:Bolton have made a strong start to the season under Owen Coyle, responding well to defeat in the Carling Cup, with a 2-2 draw with Manchester United.
Zat Knight opened the scoring with just his third goal in three years, and off the back of his first goal of the season, he has set himself a target of five to six goals for the season.
“I should score more often,” said the 30-year-old, “It’s my downfall really.
“I was winding the boys up beforehand, saying I was going to score but I feel as though I am going to do that every week.
“I have set myself a little goal of getting five or six this season.”
Bolton face an away trip to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and Knight hopes that people will take Bolton a bit more seriously know the standard has been set.
“What we need to do now is pick up points against the teams we feel are going to be around us, such as West Brom,” said Knight.
In their three games away from home, Bolton have won at West Ham, lost at Arsenal and drawn with Aston Villa and Coyle will want three points from their second trip of the season to Birmingham – they are 9/5 to beat West Brom.
Bolton had been talked of as relegation candidates at the start of the season but are now 7/1 to finish in the bottom three and Owen Coyle can focus solely on the Premier League until the FA Cup starts in January.
