Atletico travel to Norway to face a side unbeaten at home in 2010

Last year’s Europa League winners Atletico Madrid find themselves in the tightest group at the midway point of the Europa League group stage, and the current holders face a battle to qualify.

At the bottom of Group B sit Rosenborg with just three points from their three games, but the three points came in the only tie Rosenborg have played at home.

Rosenborg are unbeaten at their Lerkendal stadion over 20 matches in 2010 and Atletico, despite being 11/10 to beat Rosenborg, have lost their only game on their travels to Aris who can boast a similar home record to the Norwegian team.

Atletico have won just six times on their travels over 25 matches in 2010, but have also only failed to score on six occasions in that time.

Rosenborg have failed to score just once at home this year and the 43/50 available for over 2.5 goals looks good value.

The Norwegian seem a big price at 12/5 to take the three points considering Atletico’s troubles and a home win would throw Group B wide open.

Rosenborg are only three points off leaders Leverkusen yet are 16/1 to top Group B.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Aris

Aris shocked a few people when holding the Group B leaders to a goalless draw a fortnight ago, but considering they are unbeaten at home in all European competitions, the Greek team may have seen it as two points dropped.

Away from home Aris are a different propostion, winning just three of their last 20, and that is reflected in their 8/1 price.

Leverkusen slipped up at home to high flying Mainz in the Bundesliga last weekend, but should be strong enough in front of their home support to secure the three points – the German side are 4/11 to beat Aris.

Leverkusen are the 5/6 favourites to top Group B with Atletico second favourites at 11/8. See the full UEFA Europa League football betting odds here.
