Do not underestimate Mourinho as Real out to 13/10 to win La Liga

Now may be the perfect time to back Real Madrid to win the La Liga title as Jose Mourinho will get the perfect opportunity to put his man management skills to the test after their horror showing against Barcelona.

Mourinho’s unbeaten run as Real Madrid boss since taking over in the summer was brought to a crashing end at the Nou Camp as they fell to a 5-0 defeat.

The result has understandably seen Barcelona shorten as favourites to win La Liga to 4/7, while Real Madrid’s price of 13/10 is the first time they have been better than 1/1 in a month.

Real Madrid’s collection of global superstars may have had their pride and confidence dented by the result, but they will be advised to take note of what their manager achieved at Inter Milan.

Barcelona beat Inter 2-0 at the Nou Camp during the group stages of the Champions League in what was also a completely one-sided affair.

However, it was Mourinho who had the last laugh as Inter progressed to the final of the tournament at the expense of Barcelona by getting the result they needed at the Nou Camp.

This result was especially felt in Barcelona as it denied Pep Guardiola’s men the chance to win the Champions League in a final at the Bernabeu, the home of their Spanish rivals.

Real Madrid are now two points behind Barcelona in the La Liga standings and they have some challenging fixtures within their next six games.

Fortunately, their three toughest games on paper are all at the Bernabeu as they host teams who all have aspirations of finishing third in the table – Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal.

Meanwhile, they face Zaragoza and Almeria away, who are currently the bottom two in the standings, alongside a trip to Getafe.
