Tipsarevic is no easy task despite Federer’s 1/14 price to win

The last time Roger Federer met Janko Tipsarevic, the Serb led by two sets to one before Federer took the next two sets, winning the final set by 10 games to eight in the 2008 Australian Open.

Tipsarevic played a crucial part in Serbia’s Davis Cup semi-final win over Argentina and has some form on the hard courts, despite some poor results in recent tournaments.

However Tipsarevic made the quarter-finals in Russia last week and whilst he is unlikely to win, he is 13/2 to beat Federer, it could be a tighter game than Federer’s 1/14 price suggests.

Federer has won on both occasions these two have met but is unbackable at 1/14 and the 4/1 on offer for Federer to win by two sets to one may be the only value in the market.

Andy Roddick vs Sam Querrey

This will be the seventh time the two Americans have faced each other throughout their careers and Roddick holds a 4-2 head-to-head lead over his fellow countryman.

But Roddick has been in poor form since his second round exit at the US Open and after retiring through injury in Shanghai a fortnight ago, it remains to be seen if Roddick is at peak fitness.

Roddick is 8/15 to beat Querrey, but at odds on it’s worth avoiding the big server with question marks surrounding his fitness and form.

Querrey won the most recent clash between the two in February, 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 and is 11/8 to beat Roddick.

On the two occasions the two have met this year the tie has gone the distance and Roddick is 11/8 to win 2-1 with Querrey available at 3/1 to win 2-1.

Roddick is currently 16/1 to win in Basle while Querrey is a decent price at 33/1 to win the Davidoff Swiss Indoors.
