Ashes second test preview

Alastair Cook is the 13/8 favourite with Ladbrokes to be the Ashes series top run scorer after posting 235 not out in the first test.

Mike Hussey is the 5/1 second favourite and most likely Australian to be top series bat, with Andrew Strauss an 8/1 chance despite his duck in the first innings.

Peter Siddle is the 3/1 favourite to be the top wicket taker with James Anderson a 7/1 chance. Aussie spinner Xavier Doherty is a 25/1 shot.

This match receives a quote of just 11/10 to be a draw and it’s 6/5 that there are a total of 2 drawn games in this series.

Graeme Swann and Ricky Ponting are also the 10/1 joint favourites in the ‘man of the match’ market.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “This game looks like it’s destined for a draw. If Swann steps up to the plate and bowls well he would be a definite candidate for the man of the match”
