Bet on Lazio vs Inter – Hosts need to break Inter goal hoodoo

| 03.12.2010

Lazio have been stuttering in Serie A of late and if they want to get their title challenge back on track they will have to bring to an end a lengthy winless streak against Inter Milan.

Match Odds

Just one win in their last five games has resulted in Lazio losing top spot to AC Milan and a three-point gap has now developed between the pair.

It is 7/4 that Edy Reja’s team at worst temporarily move back level with Milan by beating Inter, but they hyave been dreadful against the opposition in their most recent meetings.

Lazio have not won any of their last 13 showdowns with Inter, while they have lost the last four of these without even managing to score.

Their form at home is only marginally better, as they have netted just once in the last five encounters with Inter at the Stadio Olimpico.

Inter had gone four games without recording a victory before beating Parma in their last game and they are 13/8 to follow up with another success and move to within one point of Lazio in the Serie A standings.

Correct Scoreline

The fact that Inter have not scored more than once in any of their last five away games will give Lazio hope that they will take something from the game if they can break their scoring jinx against their visitors.

Inter will also be without both star strikers Samuel Eto’o and Diego Milito, which could hinder their scoring prospects further.

However, both missed the recent clash with Parma and Inter managed to score five goals, as Dejan Stankovic stepped up to help himself to a hat-trick.

Taking everything into consideration, a 1-1 draw between the pair looks a logical outcome at 5/1, while Lazio shading the game 2-1 may represent good value at 9/1.

A £10 bet on Inter triumphing 2-0 could lead to a return of £100. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
