Bet on Napoli vs Palermo – Expect goals from the South Americans

Published:

Palermo have won their last three games in Serie A and extending this run with a victory at Napoli could see them leapfrog their opponents into fourth in the standings.

Match Odds

Delio Rossi’s side have only lost once in their last five league outings and this is acceptable as it came away at current table-toppers AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Palermo have only lost twice in their last ten Serie A meetings with Napoli and this could make them a decent bet at 14/5 to claim the three points.

In Napoli’s favour is that they have only ever lost once at home to Palermo and are 1/1 in the Serie A betting odds to solidify their fourth spot in the table and move back to within six points of Milan.

The draw may prove the bet the avoid as Napoli have not shared the points in their last seven league games, while none of Palermo’s last nine have ended all square.

However, both did draw their latest Europa League games and it is 23/10 that they settle for a point each.

Under/Over 2.5 goals

With both teams having a good quota of flair players, there is every reason to believe that goals will be on show between Napoli and Palermo.

Argentinean Javier Pastore already has seven goals for Palermo from midfield, while Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi have the ability to turn on the style for the hosts.

It is 5/6 that the clash features at least three goals and this has occurred in all of Palermo’s last five games and Napoli’s most recent three.

Pastore is also an 8/1 chance to be the game’s first goalscorer, while Cavani is the 5/1 favourite in the betting market and Lavezzi can be backed at 6/1.

A £10 bet on Cavani opening the scoring and Napoli going on to win 3-2 could lead to a return of £800. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
