Mary turning on the emotion to secure her X Factor survival

Published:

Mary Byrne will be hoping that producing the ultimate emotional performance will be sufficient to secure her spot in the final of the X Factor.

With only five acts left, Mary is the 4/5 favourite in the X Factor betting odds to be the 12th elimination and this is largely a result of the fact that she was in the bottom two last week.

Mary has chosen to stay within her comfort zone for the majority of the series so far, although her lack of change has resulted in her becoming slightly boring to many viewers.

However, she is hoping that turning on the emotion some more will make her deserving of a spot in the final.

Mary is mentor Louis Walsh’s last remaining act in the show and he has picked the lead song from the 1973 movie ‘The Way We Were’ as one of the two performances she will give in the semi finals.

The Tesco worker revealed the song choice on The Derek Mooney Show and she feels the fact that the song was one of the favourites of her mother should mean she will have no problems bonding with the song.

Mary said: “I think because I have an emotional connection, I’ll be able to sing it from my heart and that’s the way I like to sing songs.”

Even if Mary does make it through to the final, she is not fancied to win the show as her betting odds to take the X Factor crown are 50/1.

If Mary does survive the semi final then there is every chance that Cher Lloyd will be the act to leave the competition and she is 7/4 to be the 12th elimination from the show.

A £10 bet on Mary winning the X Factor could lead to a £500 payout. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
