Wade vs Suljovic – Second seed 6/4 to win in straight sets
Published:Mensur Suljovic may have been able to take advantage of Michael van Gerwin’s inability to hit his doubles in the first round of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championships, but it is unlikely he will enjoy the same fortune against James Wade.
Number two seed Wade is one of the more fancied competitors to win the tournament at Alexandra Palace and breezed through his opening round encounter against Spaniard Antonio Alcinas.
Wade is 1/12 in the darts betting odds to beat Suljovic and it is 6/4 that he wins 4-0 and maintains his tournament record of not dropping a set so far.
Suljovic has already equalled his best performance in the tournament as he also made the last 32 in both 2008 and 2009.
He is 6/1 to defeat Wade and move into the third round of the competition to face either Wes Newton or Brendan Dolan.
Elsewhere in the second round, Terry Jenkins faces another tough challenge as he challenges Steve Brown.
Jenkins had to scrap to beat young prospect Joe Cullen in the opening round and now faces another rising star in Brown, who has seemingly profited from committing his career to darts full time.
Brown has already defeated Jenkins once this year and is 11/4 in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship betting to do so again.
He also looked in good form in his success in the first round against the highly-rated Jelle Klaasen.
Jenkins holds the 5-3 advantage in the head-to-head record and is 1/4 to beat Brown.
Despite being the underdog, Brown has the capabilities of beating Jenkins and a 4-2 victory in his favour could be largely overpriced at 12/1.
