Creative Cassano to keep Milan on course for Serie A title

AC Milan are heavy title favourites in the Serie A betting at 4/5 and coach Massimiliano Allegri is in agreement that it is in the club’s hands to throw away.

Milan gave the rest of Serie A some belief when they were held to a 4-4 draw by Udinese and Napoli jumped at the chance to bridge the gap at the top of the standings to four points.

Despite the small setback, there is still plenty for Milan to remain buoyant about, particularly the form of new signing Antonio Cassano.

Cassano has wasted little time settling into life at Milan after his arrival from Sampdoria, as in two substitute appearances lasting a combined 37 minutes, he has already set up three goals.

Meanwhile, the goals do not seem to be drying up for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack and Alexandre Pato has quickly got his name back on the scoresheet after returning from injury.

The only real concern is the lack of depth in defence if anything serious should happen to Alessandro Nesta or Thiago Silva.

Any big slip ups may now be pounced upon by Inter Milan, who seem justified in their decision to get rid of Rafa Benitez.

Back-to-back victories for new boss Leonardo have seen their Serie A betting odds tumble to 5/2 to win the title for the sixth season in succession.

The most recent of these came away at Catania and Leonardo was pleased with the heart and character displayed by his side to recover from falling behind.

However, Inter cannot afford to rest on their laurels as they still sit seventh in the standings, 11 points adrift of neighbours AC Milan, although they do have two games in hand.
