Everton v Tottenham – Spurs to ease past depleted Toffees

And it’s difficult to see things being much different for the Scot after the visit of Tottenham Hotspur to Goodison Park.
Spurs are hardly tight at the back – they haven’t kept a clean sheet on the road this season – but the Toffees may not have the firepower to capitalise with top scorer Tim Cahill joining the Australia squad at the Asian Cup.
Spurs haven’t lost since their 4-2 defeat to Bolton Wanderers in early November. Since then they have gone 11 games without defeat in all competitions, winning their three Premier League games over Christmas.
However, Spurs will be without Jermain Defoe who is suspended following his sending-off against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Despite the absence of Defoe, Redknapp has the rest of his top attacking talent at his disposal. Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart have 21 goals between them this season and will be a tough test for an Everton side who looked shaky at the back against Stoke in their last game.
The Toffees haven’t won at home in their last four games and it’s hard to see them ending that run against a rampant Spurs.
Back Spurs to come out on top at 13/8, while putting some cash on a 2-0 win for the visitors at 10/1 could also yield a very tidy profit.
