Everton vs Chelsea – Visitors love top-flight FA Cup opponents

| 28.01.2011

Chelsea’s recent dominance over fellow Premier League opposition in the FA Cup is one big reason why they could be a decent bet at 1/1 to beat Everton and move into the fifth round of the competition.

Match Odds

Not since their semi-final defeat to Liverpool in 2006 have Chelsea been eliminated from the FA Cup by a fellow Premier League club, which takes their winning run to nine games.

Meanwhile, they have shown been in blistering form in recent weeks, showing signs of returning to their form of old with three straight victories, which has seen 13 goals scored and none conceded.

Everton have not been in bad form themselves of late as they have lost just one of their last nine games, although they have been prone to collecting draws.

It is 11/4 in the FA Cup betting odds that Everton beat Chelsea, with the draw that would take the tie to a replay at Stamford Bridge priced at 12/5.

Also in Everton’s favour is that just two away teams have secured victory in the last 15 all-Premier League FA Cup clashes.

Over/Under 2.5 goals

With Chelsea only scoring more than one goal just a single time in their last nine visits to Goodison Park, there is a strong possibility that this fourth round clash could be low scoring.

Although Everton have scored at least twice in each of their last four games in all competitions, they are still short of a striker that finds the target regularly.

Betting odds of 4/5 are available that less than three goals are scored, while those fancying a goal fest may want to take advantage of the 10/11 that a minimum of three goals are netted.

A £25 stake on Chelsea beating Everton 1-0 would return £175. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
