Hammers backed for Stratford
Published:West Ham United are the subject of a significant gamble to win the Olympic Stadium bid with Ladbrokes.
Previously 4/1, they now trade at 8/13 after several new accounts in the Greater London area were opened to have the maximum stake on them winning the bid for Stratford after the games.
This activity has displaced early favourites Tottenham pushing them out to 4/1 with neither team winning a 2/1 chance.
The shared bid appears less likely again at 50/1.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “West Ham are the new favourites in a market which has been lively since we opened the book. Several large bets have been placed from new accounts in the London area so we have to take note and West Ham are cut accordingly.
