Huge gamble on Oldfield for royal wedding dress

Bruce Oldfield’s odds of designing Kate’s dress for the royal wedding have been slashed to 6/4 (from 16/1) by Ladbrokes.

The bookies can report a significant gamble for Oldfield taking him from a relative outsider to hot favouritism overnight which they believe to be sparked by a Middleton family trip to his boutique over the weekend.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The Middleton’s shopping trip to Oldfield’s boutique has lit the touch paper for the first significant royal wedding gamble of the year. Our hunch now is that Oldfield has got the gig and if it’s confirmed we will be paying out enough to buy his entire shop many times over.”
