Liverpool vs Everton – King Kenny can inspire Reds to win

Kenny Dalglish’s return to the Anfield hot seat hasn’t got off to the best of starts – but things should improve against an equally inconsistent Everton.

Liverpool are 5/4 in the Premier League betting to win against an Everton side who are level on points with the Reds and haven’t won at Anfield since 1999.

Dalglish’s opening defeat to Manchester United showed glimpses of some fight (quite literally in Steven Gerrard’s case), while Fernando Torres scored a brilliant goal against Blackpool to remind everyone what he is capable of.

The main cause of concern for Dalglish will be the poor defending that lead to the two Blackpool goals. However, with Everton boasting only the 14th best attack in the league – and with top scorer Tim Cahill away on international duty – the Liverpool back line should have an easier time of things.

None of the last five meetings between the sides at Anfield has yielded over 2.5 goals, so backing less than three goals to be scored again at 4/6 could certainly be worth a bet – especially if you take advantage of the fact that new customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.

The Toffees have won just two games on the road all season while Liverpool, despite their lowly league position, have lost only one of their last five on home soil, conceding just two goals in the process.

Backing Liverpool to come out on top at 5/4 really looks like a bet worth taking on.
