Sawalha betting leader to get Dancing On Ice boot first

Nadia Sawalha is the favourite in the Dancing On Ice betting to be one of the two acts voted off as eight of the show’s 16 contestants prepare to show their skills in the first of two launch shows.

With only 12 celebrities able to make it into the competition proper, two launch shows are taking place, with six acts making it through each.

In each show, the three acts with the lowest score after the public vote will enter the skate off, then the judges will decide which two will be sent home.

Television presenter Sawalha will dance alongside Mark Hanretty and is priced at 1/1 to be one of the two acts to leave the show.

Next in the betting odds to be voted off is Angela Rippon at 5/4, with the newsreader set to be the oldest contestant to ever take part on the show.

Victoria Cross winner and military hero Johnson Beharry is sure to have many supporters, but may have been the least talented on ice of the contestants before training began.

Growing up in Grenada, Beharry had never previously stepped foot on a skating rink and is 5/2 to leave the show.

Elsewhere, Coronation Street star Steven Arnold is 3/1 to get the boot, alongside Jeff Brazier, with appropriately named rapper Vanilla Ice 7/2.

It has been shown in the past that men do most of the leading on the rink, so it can be a lot easier for the women in the opening weeks to shine as they are held on to by their partners or take part in lifts from the early stages.

Therefore, this is one of the reasons why it is unsurprising that Kerry Katona and Nickelodeon presenter Laura Hamilton are the outsiders in the betting to leave first at 4/1.

A £10 bet on Katona winning Dancing On Ice could see a return of £100. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
