Inter Serie A title talk putting pressure on AC Milan

| 09.02.2011

Thiago Silva believes that AC Milan have to remain focused in their quest for the Serie A title as the rest of the talk in Italy is about the surge into contention of rivals Inter Milan.

Milan have led the Serie A standings since the early days in November and currently have a five-point cushion over the remainder of the table.

This has understandably made them favourites in the Serie A betting at 10/11, but they are being chased hard by Inter, who have won seven of their eight league games since Leonardo took over as manager.

This run has seen them soar into title contention and in many circles it is deemed to be just a matter of time before they completely close the gap on AC Milan.

However, AC Milan defender Silva feels his club just need to consistently remind themselves that the whereabouts of the title is still totally in their hands.

He said: “The TV, radio and newspapers only talk about Inter and always with adjectives full of enthusiasm. At times I go and look at the league table to confirm that we are the ones at the top?

“Someone wants to break our dressing room, magnify our problems and take our assurance away. We must respond on the pitch.”

Milan may not have lost in their last seven Serie A games, but just three victories in this period is part of the reason why the remainder of the league have been able to begin to peg them back.

Parma are the next opposition for Milan and it is 1/3 in the Serie A betting that Massimiliano Allegri’s team secure the three points.

The omens are good for Milan as they have won seven of their last eight home encounters with Parma.

A £25 stake on Milan beating Parma 1-0 would return £125. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
