Bet on Wales vs England – ‘Spicy’ battle sure to lead to bookings

Phil Jageilka believes that England’s clash with Wales will be a ‘spicy’ affair and therefore the 5/4 in the football betting on over 45 booking points being secured looks decent value.

A booking equates to ten points on Ladbrokes with a red card gaining 25, which means that a player who is dismissed after receiving two cautions would collect 35 points.

Based on this system, as long as five players are booked at the Millennium Stadium then the bet is a winner.

The atmosphere will be electric in Wales and there is every chance that tensions will be high in a game steeped in tradition.

Furthermore, with the showdown being a Euro 2012 qualifier, Wales, in particular, will have their tails up to ensure that England fail to qualify for next summer’s tournament.

With the tradition of the game likely to cause some tempers to boil over, some hot-headed characters are also set to be selected, who are prime candidates to pick up cautions.

For Wales, Craig Bellamy certainly has a reputation for having a temper and will not be afraid to give the referee an earful if he is unhappy with a particular decision.

Bellamy has collected eight bookings for Cardiff this season.

England are also no angels with Wayne Rooney likely to be Fabio Capello’s version of Bellamy, while whoever is picked in midfield out of Gareth Barry, Scott Parker and Jack Wilshere will not be afraid to leave a foot in.

Other things worth considering are that a player has been sent off in each of Wales’ last two home games, while over 45 booking points were also easily surpassed in England’s last two Euro 2012 qualifiers against Switzerland and Montenegro.

A £20 stake on over 65 booking points being secured would return £80. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totalling up to £60.
