Championship promotion battle set to go right to the wire

| 20.03.2011

Swansea City produced another brilliant performance at the Liberty Stadium to see of fellow promotion rivals Nottingham Forest 3-2 on Saturday.

The Swans are second favourites for the Championship title at 9/1 after their impressive win that came courtesy of goals from Scott Sinclair and a brace from on-loan debutant Fabio Borini.

Despite their victory, they remain in third place behind Norwich City who managed to pick up a valuable draw away to Hull City.

It took a late equalizer from veteran Hull midfielder Nicky Barmby to rescue a point for the TIgers who are four points behind Forest in the play-off places.

The Canaries are currently priced at 10/1 to win the Championship.

Meanwhile, the start of the season when Cardiff City were overwhelming favourites for the Championship seems like a long time ago.

The Bluebirds have drifted to 14/1 to win the Championship title following their 3-3 draw against Millwall this weekend. Steve Morison scored a late equaliser for the Lions as Dave Jones’ side hopes of automatic promotion took another blow.

There was no such slip up for Queens Park Rangers though. Neil Warnock’s men ground out a 1-0 win away to Doncaster thanks to Hogan Ephraim’s second-half goal.

Rangers are huge 1/7 favourites for the title and are currently nine points ahead of Norwich City in second place.

A £20 stake on Norwich winning the Championship would return £200. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totaling up to £60.
