Kevin Davies 100/1 to emulate Nat Lofthouse in Wembley Final

Bolton Wanderers are 100/1 with Ladbrokes to lift the FA Cup courtesy of a Kevin Davies goalscoring charge on the Man United goalkeeper in a replica move of Nat Lofthouse’s controversial assault on United keeper Harry Gregg in 1958.

United are the even money favourites to lift the Cup but must meet arch-rivals Man City (9/4) in the semi-finals. Bolton are 11/2 for the silverware with opponents Stoke City at 6/1.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Bolton and Stoke fans must surely fancy their chances of reaching the Final. They’ve avoided the Manchester powerhouses which is a massive boost.

“Lofthouse’s barge on Gregg is an iconic Wembley memory. With Wanderers fans still mourning the loss of Nat a replica charge from Kevin Davies could be written into the romantics’ script.”
