Man Utd show why they’re favourites for title as Arsenal slip up

| 20.03.2011

Everything looked to be going against Manchester United in their game against Bolton yesterday.

Sir Alex Ferguson was forced to sit in the stands, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and a host of others were out injured – and that was all before Johnny Evans got sent off.

However, United still managed to conjure a winner in the dying minutes thanks to Dimitar Berbatov’s bundled effort – it might not be the prettiest goal he’s scored all season but it could prove to be one of the most important.

United have now moved five points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League and – despite the Gunners having played a game less, it’s hard to see Fergie’s men being caught.

Their current price of 4/7 may not be the biggest price you’ll ever come across, but it’s definitely still worth backing.

However, if – like Arsene Wenger – your faith in Arsenal is unshakable, then the Gunners have lengthened to 5/2 following their 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Goals from Andrei Arsharvin and Robin van Persie helped rescue a point for the Gunners, but it was a familiar story at the back as a horrendous mix-up between goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and Sebastien Squillaci gave West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie a simple chance to slot home.

Arsenal certainly have the easier run-in though and – without any cup distractions to worry about – Wenger’s side could be well worth a bet.

Chelsea shouldn’t be written off either and the 6/1 offered on them to win the Premier League could also give you a very tidy pay out.

A £20 stake on Chelsea winning the Premier League would return £120. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totaling up to £60.
